17 inch wheels..users inside

Right now I have Kumo MX 255/45/17 which are 26' tall. I need more traction on the street and the track and putting slicks on at the track isn't an option. I see the nitto's drag radials are 275 40 17 but are 25.7 which would lose MPH at the end of the track and a higher rpm,but would it be that much? Any other suggestions would be cool.

nitto 450 are real nice-soft compound- i run 255x50x17 in the rear.on 17x8 with 4" backspace.fit nice and are about 27" tall.

if your not trapping 115 or so a 26" tall tire should be fine, if not then locking the converter should help as well. I run 315/35/17s nittos and like the way they hook, i would assume a 275/45/17 should do ok. If you really want to hook and don't mind a tire not lasting very long go ahead with a MT street radial.

I have not seen any 275 /45/17... just the 40's series.
