17x8's with 3.5 in. backspacing?

Can I get away with it? the wheels I ordered only come in 3.5 in. backspacing. can I put on a spacer if they don't fit. I shouldn't need much of one if I do. I will be running 235/40's in front and 255/40's out back. I wanted torq thrusts but they said I would have to wait over a month to get them

3.5" will probably fit fine, but will likely require the wheel well lip to be rolled to avoid cutting a tire. In front, you may want stiffer springs to keep the tire off the lip.

No amount of spacer will improve the situation, so if you don't like the way they work, you are pretty much screwed.

I'm running 17x7 telstars w/4.5" back spacing on the front and 17x8 with 3.5" backspacing on the rear.......tire sizes are 245x45 on the front and 275x40 on the rears............I lowered my GN 2" in front and 1.5" in the rear.........I had to do major surgery to the front wheel wells but have no rubbing problems on the rear.....
