1979 Buick 3.8 Cylinder Head ?

I have a buddy that has a 79 Buick 3.8 in his Luv truck. Will the Turbo Buick heads work in his motor or are they totally different? His motor came out of a stock regal and had a 2 bubble intake on it. Thanks for any info.

The 79 and up heads are basically the same so it shouldn't be a problem. The best heads are the 8445 castings because they have a bridged water passage at the ned of the heads.

They should swap just fine. I`m swapping my 79 turbo heads(running on a stock n/a right now) with 85 turbo heads, a new set of springs and a bigger cam... how do I check what # heads I have? I looked at the 85 heads and cant really find any #`s I recognize... found one set of #`s that looks like it says 0035, but the first 0 was kinda faded out and might say something else.

Casting number is inside the valve cover area of the heads.

Ill have to look again... couldn't find any number that looked like a cast #... 0035 was all I saw. But didn`t look that hard at it:biggrin:
