Hi there fellow buick guys, I have a 1983 Regal T-type and the mufflers that are on the car right now are pretty well rusted right through, and was thinking of getting some Flowmaster 40 series for it, but....I have heard that they are 2 restrictive for a turbo car, is this true? or jsut a bunch of bulls**t? Also has anyone had any experience with Flow 40's on a t-type? or even a GN or any other buick 3.8L turbo engine? What do they sound like? I want somthing that is guna be a nice low rumble nothing tooooo loud at all, kinda jsut looking for somthing a little louder than stock and not somthing that is guna sound like a rice rocket....Thanks in advance guys!

Muffler Flow Tests
This should answer most of your questions. Get the flowbastards out of your mind and get a good muffler.

And I forgot. welcome aboard and join us in the before black section.

From what I've read the Dynomax Ultraflow is what you want for the bad ass ATR sound. That's whats gonna go on my car eventually, and I found a guy to build me a stainless steel downpipe and do any exhaust work on my car:cool:

same here

yeah i have an 83 t-type and i was told by an exhaust shop that the exhaust was in pieces (probably cuz the car was stolen atleast 4 times) and the guy told me that it was illegal 2 drive cuz it was missing a catalyc converter. He told me that i could put some Flowmasters on it, but i was a bit sceptical 2 say yes but the entire exhaust system is in pieces (and some of it upsidedown) when i bought it.

Another virgin. Cool! Welcome aboard! You need to look at the Pypes system. Stainless and not bad in the price department. If you need a link one of us can provide it for you.

Are there any mods on the car right now?

Sugestion for you is to go to your user controls and add some info. Location and details about the car will help if there's a problem. We like to help each other out if you haven't figured that out yet. We also rib each other a bit so make sure to have a sense of humor.

That's for damn sure. Charles is always pickin on me. I sometimes cry myself to sleep at night;)

no mods on it right now... bone stock exept the carb which is an edelbrock 4 barrell that really sucks in my opinion, and the rims which r very old and rust is rampant on them which is pretty emberrasing:frown: but it still gets attention, yeah a link would be cool... also do you know where i could find a timing gear/belt cover @?

This should hep you with some of the information. Now come to the before black section and do some reading. Aj loves the Ebrock carbs but I still think they're junk myself. As far as the timing cover, what wrong with it? The car uses a chain and gears, no belt involved with it. Do a search in the engine section for timing chains and see what you get. It may take you a while but you should be able to find some info on it.
