Have an 84 regal t type with the stock 3.8l and stock turbo( has a mild crane cam) wondering what everyone is running on stockers for boost with 91 octane fuel belive it's around 10-12 psi stock would like to try 15psi with a better fuel pump and Fp regulator wondering if anybody is having issues at 15psi with 91 octane thanks. Going to put an afr gauge in it as well down the road to keep an eye on things.

there's a hotair section on the board
15 psi ...good luck ..an 87 stock intercooled has issues with that and 91

if you want 15 on a hotair convert over to e85

afr gauge will let you know if you have enough fuel it wont tell you if boost is too high for the octane/timing and detonating

if you want to try for more than stock boost get a scanmaster (requires 87 ecm and custom tt chip) or some form of knock gauge ,
with a scanmaster you can see 02s and more important you can see KR (knock retard),

You are on a path to hurt the car
For what?
To approach 15psi/1bar?
The denser the air the more power
You have really hot air coming out of the turbo with nothing to cool it down, let's say 300+degrees.
With that said you will need fuel that's not easy to detonate which is why pacecarta suggested e85.

To run the boost numbers you want your only chance will be lower timing with a richer afr and you will still be in a area to hurt the car on 91 octane.
Intercooler alone will allow the 15/17 psi and you still may need to pull timing on 91 depending on how good your intercooler is and how hot the air intake temps are.
Which on the stock turbo they heat up fast when above 15psi depending on intercooler.

at 21 psi stock 87 turbo is pushing out 350DegF with a 80 degree ambient inlet temp, the stock intercooler can get that down to around 200deg and it rises fast the longer you stay in it
the 85 turbo compressor wheel is smaller and temps will be worse

with alkycontrol methanol injection at the turbo outlet (need a solenoid from julio) you can get boost up above 15, have run 20psi on 93 /alky that we get in the north east and a tt chip with lower timing in high gear ( 17deg ) than the intercooled cars run on alky
