For sale in Berlin, NJ 08009:

Background: This car started life as a hardtop 1984 T type. I am 4th owner. I bought the car about 21 years ago while it was mid-restoration and finished the project. Currently registered as a historic car in NJ and driven around 1k miles a year. Current odometer 133, 436 miles. During restoration process I acquired parts from a 1986 GN that was being gutted for a tube chassis drag car, so most of the '86 GN parts were put into the '84 car including engine. It's a great driver quality car with full interior and rides like stock.

Engine: Rebuilt 109 block by previous owner with .040 forged pistons, looks like stock crank & rods, ARP bolts and ARP head studs. Mildly ported stock iron heads with aftermarket valves. I updated with new comp 980 springs, valve seals, and stock GM headgaskets in 2017. Ported stock intake with RJC power plate. 204/214 cam. It has a Precision 6165 dual ball bearing turbo with about 1k miles on it, external 44mm wastegate, 3" down pipe & 3" single exhaust, front mount intercooler with 3" pipes, MAF translator and MAF from a 6.0 silverado. Dual nozzle Devil's Own progressive alcohol injection system. Turbo tweak 5.7 chip, dual electric fans (hotwired), Walbro 450 pump (hotwired), 80lb deka injectors, adjustable fpr and there is a fuel pressure gauge on a 4' braided line under the hood (can be taped to windshield if needed for troubleshooting). 140 amp alternator and Casper's volt booster. It idles and runs great. I estimate I've put 20k miles on it since I acquired it.

Transmission: TH400 complete rebuild by Michael's Transmission in Atco around 2012. Shift kit, reverse manual valve body, Hurst quarter stick shifter, Pat's 10" 3000rpm converter. Oversized trans oil cooler. It is bullet proof. Spoolfool drip lip cover.

Interior: Procar Elite front seats, the upper door panels and rear seat were covered with matching material and stitching. I kept the interior black & grey but with a more modern look. New dash cover, new carpet, new headliner, new dew sweeps on the doors. New seatbelts. There are no cracks anywhere. Guages for boost, Autometer tach with shift light, AEM wideband o2, oil temp, water temp, and Scanmaster.

Chassis/Body: Floorpans for driver & passenger side front & rear were replaced during restoration process. New rocker panels welded in. All rust spots on door corners and driver side rear quarter were cut out and replaced with metal patch panels welded in prior to painting. Body filler only used to smooth lines, not fill holes. There are no rust issues and the body/chassis are solid. Suspension is mostly stock, struts were replaced. Air lift bags in rear springs. Upper and lower rear control arms are boxed with new bushings installed. Steel bumpers, '86 grille, new 1 piece lower valance, spoolfool fiberglass front/rear bumper fillers, fiberglass hood. The typical crack at the top rear of the door frame eventually re-appeared after restoration. See attached photos, about 1/2" long on the passenger side and 1/4" on the driver side. No rust holes, no rot at the typical spots at bottoms of the doors or at the trunk. All steering components have been replaced- center link, tie rods, pitman arm etc... All rubber sections of fuel lines get replaced as part of spring cleaning.

Wheels: Stock GN 15x7 front wheels, rear are 15x10 GN replicas. 215/60r15 front and 275/60r15 rear tire are in good shape with plenty of tread.

Paint: This car was repainted in either 2008 or 2009. The paint has acquired a few blemishes over the years, consisting mostly of a few small stone chips. It still looks great from 10 feet away and I get a thumbs up every time I take it for a cruise. In the pic of the lower driver side door front corner, there is a small but visible crack about 1/2" long in the body filler where it was used to smooth the transition from a patch panel to the door skin.

Miscellaneous: The non-working heater box was previously removed and I intended to install a smaller aftermarket heater like the type sold by Summit racing. As of now it has a delete panel on the firewall and water ports capped. The car is currently tuned to the default settings in the turbo tweak chip for premium gas/alky: 23psi, 21/18 degrees of timing, and afr is 10.8-11:1 at WOT with no knock. At this level it will burn the back tires at WOT in 1st/2nd and hook in 3rd on the street. Adding max fueling via the chip and turning the RJC boost controller all the way in I can get it to 30psi in summer air with zero knock. It will light the turbo instantly and spin the back tires in every gear at virtually any speed. The car is a blast to drive. I have no time slips and never took it to the strip, but the engine with a smaller TE44 turbo did go 11's when it was in the previous car. I have a bunch of parts I will include in the sale including a radiator core support in good shape, stock driveshaft, AC compressor, and a second set of most of the interior plastic panels.

Car is located in southern NJ. It has been garaged kept and never seen rain or road salt during the time I have owned it.

Asking $22,500 or best offer. Interested buyers who wish to talk can PM me and I will send you my cell number.
