I have an 1985 gn motor and intercooler kit. i need to find the perfect gm vechicle to put my engine and trans and rear end into. I want a simple installation process. Tell me about exhaust and electrical problems i might run into.

Perfect vehicle may be another Turbo Regal.
That way you can get advice here and not run into too many problems. :D

For simplest and being able to run aftermarket parts and not get into custom stuff - - > Regal, Grand Prix, El Camino, Cutlass, Monte Carlo, etc. I personally, for some reason, like the aero coupe monte carlo SS. I would probably just find a nice roller project and go with it. Just my .02 cents.

So you have a motor and an intercooler. Aftermarket? Anyway, you are good to go on a variety of swaps. I would also keep it in the family, pick some inoccuous G body to plant it in. Malibu 4 door? I ran into a guy who put an '87 drivetrain in a Cutlass 4 door, cool! Can you say sleeper? See the hybrid section if you want more interesting stuff!

Have you thought what vehicle to put the motor in? i would put it back in either a regal, my second choice would be a chevy S10 pick up that be sweet. Good luck FrankC

Just another regal would work, doesn't necessarily have to be a turbo car. Let us know what you decide on.

ive seen IC motors in malibu wagons, caprice wagons, malibu 2 door cars, 4 door cars, elcaminos, shvey s-10's and blazers, monte carlo's, and one opel GT....

They can be put into fords also, if you like a little persecution, and you have a good welding friend. Other than that, I would stick the GM b-body (g-bodies). They are the best application. A regal would be most appropriate, but if you want to get creative, and have some talent...go wild!!!

On that note, has anyone else ever seen that el camino in NJ that has the GN front clip, GN interior, and an IC motor in it? I saw it once in E-town, never saw it again...AWESOME CAR!!!! it was black, with the GN emblems, the GN hood, header panel, grill, everything!!!! It just looked cool as hell. The interior was the black and grey buckets, the GN dash, all the components...It was seriously a "pick-up-regal."

John

I have seen a couple El Caminos on the net and they are sharp the way you described 'em. I have also seen an older porsche with a hot air motor in it.

I've seen it at Nationals pretty cool. The camaro was really neat too.
