1986 Hot Air TB's

I always was under the impression that all 86 TB's were intercooled. I ran across some information that said 86 was a transition year and that early 86's were hot air cars. I would assume that if this is true, Buick had a lot of hot air components left over and wanted to use up inventory. Were early 86's hot air cars and, if so, what was the production number split on hot air/IC cars? I did a search and came up empty. TIA!
