Turbocharged 1987 Blazer
It’s got a stock LC2 power-plant (turbocharged inter-cooled 3.8 from a GN), a 700R4 trans. with stall converter and shift kit, a customized 8.5" rear-end, and a heavy duty lowering kit with welded control arms. The interior is custom tweed along with Dakota digital gauges.
Here are some pics of my ‘87 Blazer Hybrid. This truck is beautiful with lots of custom fab work, all of which was done by the previous owner in 1992. Since then, the truck has only been driven about 2k miles, mostly due to it running rough and under boosting (which I cured). It was actually a fueling issue that caused it to fall on its' face and under boost. Plain and simple, the pump was getting hardly any volts. I temporarily ran a hot wire to the pump to see how it would run, and found that it was like two different trucks. I installed a fuel pump relay kit, and now she starts and runs like a dream! I was told that “Its like a show-n-go SUV.”
The previous owner did awesome work! You really have to see it to appreciate all the small fabrication details that are so good they appear factory, inside and out! It really looks like GM actually installed this engine and made all the interior. The frame and undercarriage are extremely clean and almost look like new. Unfortunately, the previous owner didn't know much about the LC2 specifically so the small details are what I got to sort out. I was told, by the previous owner and someone else, that it was in a mini truck magazine in the early to mid 90's.
