Honestly, cool would be a better resource on that one. I have never had the throttle plate issue....

60 mi is not a big deal, if all this is still going on I can come by on Wednesday. I have an 85 MAF, it's crappy but it works, I am just hesitant to bring it with me because security will definately raise an eyebrow on it. I will give it a shot anyway..

Update 6/19
Tried again today. I thought I might..MIGHT have thought I heard a change of idle when spraying around the EGR so I took it off dressed the mating surfs down almost treated gasket with high temp copper spray, remounted. replaced PVC with 87 ACDelco unit. No Help. I can get the idle down to 800. but the IAC still reads 0? I cant find a new IAC locally YET. It sure seems to me that it is working just by the numbers moving while driving.
One IMPORTANT thing I did notice was the the MAF read 4gpm engine OFF ign ON, giveen a +4 number = 7 at idle corrected.
Turned boost down 2# fp 40 .2 ret.
What do you guys think of this
My home # is 616-784-5657 if you care.

I would be more concerned with BLM's when it comes to FP...if you are at 128 with 40 psi then you have room to bring the fuel pressure up a bit more. It's when the BLM's drop off that you are putting to much fuel into the system.

I will be able to get to you around 12 noon or so tomorrow "Wednesday" I have my old MAF, like I said it sucks but it should work well enough to rule out the MAF. I don't think your IAC is bad either...

Hi All
I got my new IAC installed tonight. I noticed a immediately noticed a differance from all the other time I have set it!! I did get it to 9-15 @ 750-850 idle but my BLM haven't moved off 150 regardless of fp. MAF is at 5GPS
Tenright came and gave me a hand,so now I am on the right track. with a bit more tuning I should be able to get it. I had a tough weekend throwing logs on a fire and I am wore out from that so I'll hit it hard monday

150 is maxed out..whats the INT?? this is usually a massive vacuume leak. Shouldn't be when I came to see you your BLM's were low, and or right in the 120's....did you disconnect something and forget to hook it back up while messing with the IAC???? Also remember your TPS voltage is probably way off now. Glad to hear it was the IAC, figured that was it once we ruled out everything else.

BTW, after I finally got the gumption up I tore down the intake manifold, you were right it looked worse then it was. I did notice a couple of things.

1) there isn't enought RTV in the world to keep the front and back sealed without the rubber gaskets. Eventually it's gonna leak with just RTV..

2) good call on "the right stuff" rtv...I could tell immediately it would do well. It is thick and very sticky, almost like glue.

3) and most important, I noticed as I was putting all this together that the rubber seals and the valley pan meet flush. Looking at the two cardboard side gaskets and the way the valley pan gasket met so nicely with the rubber front and back seals I decided the only thing those side gaskets could possibly do is cause a gap between the rubber seals and the vallety pan so I did not put them in. Instead I coated the entire side of the manifold with a thin layer of the RTV, dropped the manifold in place and torqued it down.

I also applied a bead to the underside of the rubber seals, placed them on and let them set for about 2 hours. Then just before I put in the manifold I applied a bead to the the outside of the top of the rubber seals, and a glob in the corners. Crossing my fingers that this will stop my damn manifold oil leak.

I'm sure I've didn't miss any lines. I didn't remove any after we drove it. I think it just needs a drive.INT are at 128 I did adjust TPS.I just need to find the numbers and the right balance of adjustments. Every adjustment changes every thing IAC,TPS,and idle. At least it's doing something now!!!
I love that "right stuff" I give it a smear on quite a few things. I did a lot of pacing before I did my intake,VERY glad I did it now I don't have to look back at it.
