I'm a little confused as to which accumulator does what. There is the big one on the pass side of the trans, then there is the one in the pan behind the valve body that has the bolted on housing [1-2]? Then there is another one that falls out when the valve body is removed. Which one is which? When I had my tranny apart today the spring in the bolted on one was broken.

The one on the side is the servo it applies the band for the 1-2 & acts as a accum. on the 2-3. The one on the bttom of the VB is the 1-2 accum. The one in the case is for 3-4.
The one that has the broken spring is the 1-2 sounds like.

The Big 1 on the passenger side is the Intermediate/2nd gear Band Apply Servo, The one behind the valve body under the seperator plate is the 3-4 Accumulator, on the outside of seperator plate is the 1-2 Accumulator , The one behind the valve body and 1-2 & 3-4 Accumulator is the Governor.

The bolted one is 1-2 shift accum, broken spring is common, the one that falls out when u drop the vb is 3-4 ,the one on the side is 2-3 also known as 1-2 servo.
