Hey guys, I'm new to the board, and hope you can help me out. I have a 69 Chevelle with 350 and a 200-4R transmission. After much highly appreciated help from Bruce (WE4) as far as getting my governor sorted out, my car has run a best of 13.65 at 99.00MPH in the 1/4. Currently, I run the B&M Speed Control that locks the convertor only in 4th gear, and only above 60mph, which is adjustable via the Speed Control. Since I am only using the first three gears in the 1/4 mile, obviously I am not locking the converter while racing.
I am hoping to find a little more top-end speed with this combo and break the 100MPH barrier. To that end, I would like to experiment with locking the converter in 3rd gear, above a pre-determined RPM, maybe 4000 or so. Can anyone explain the lock-up wiring necessary for this? I'm basically a novice with electrical stuff, so a description in layman's terms would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike Newby
