We just saw them at the autoshow, yesterday.

The hood scoop is looking more and more like a '69 Six Pack road runner hood scoop.

The new Lancer Evo was at the autoshow, too. Stock the STI should be faster, but after the warranty runs out, who knows.

Nice cars, just hope for the best when it comes to the transmision and it's overall durability.

Both the subarus and the mitsubshi have a trans of glass.

During a recent WRC broadcast, they talked about the Prodrive Subaru's Transmission and said they were $70K each. Unlike the the sequential transmissions in all the other WRC cars, it was a regular trans with solenoids controlling the shifting. Subaru claimed something like they could shift up and down the whole trans quicker than a sequential gearbox could shift once.

With all the money subaru spends on trans development, maybe they can make one live with 300 HP in front of it.

I read last week that the EVO owners group is boycotting mitsubishi because the dealers are marking up the EVO's $5K to $10K.

Even only a $5K markup puts the EVO in Cobra money. They will see a lot of tailights in their turbocharged $35K S-box. Sure they are different cars, but I'd bet more will be drag raced than "rally raced". A turbo s-box is only a bargain if it's priced less than $25K, over that, you get close to buying a 350Z and other cars that aren't based on a $13K car.

Wow, congrats on that score. You must've been loaded for bear when you sat down at the negotiating table, because I too thought they were going for well north of sticker (like the Cobras were earlier). The girlfriend is getting a WRX when she gets out of lawschool, maybe I can talk her into the STi. I don't know as much about the Evo, and I'm generally not the biggest Mitsu fan, but the Evo does sound like a serious bang for the buck contender on the performance front. AWD, way more power stock than the WRX or Neon SRT, and probably endless aftermarket (soon).

i found that the dealers are more likely to sell to an older guy like me at sticker o

i went in and told them 200 under sticker and i will buy it now, i drove them both(the wrx and the wrx sti) thwn i bought an evo. it handles better, is better built and has better brakes, seriously this is a heck of a car, i had porsches, and i can tell you that this car is faster than a 944 turbo, and then stops better to boot. plus it is an aluminum intese car so it is real light and won't rust. if i had to buy a wrx, i would definetly get the sti. it is slightly quicker 0-60 than the evo, but the evo is faster on the top

I just priced an WRX STI, in white exterior on a showroom floor in Long Beach, Ca. The dealer had balls to do a market adjustment on the sticker for an add-on of $ 7995. It added up to about $ 39K before destination, taxes, and who knows what else.
Some dealers should be shot. I don't mean vaccinated, either.

Well, one of the only things good about Canada, it is illegal to mark-up the sticker on a car.
