200r4 noise when going into gear

Well guys I just got the car, I love it!!! But it has a few issues. It makes a Clanking or clunking noise when going into gear. Example, when shifting into drive the shifting into reverse. So it's clunk into drive, then clunk when going into reverse. With the car in the air and power braking it so the tires and driveshaft would not move. And it still makes the same noise. I put the tranny in neutral and spun the driveshaft while under the car and it sounds like the noise is in the tranny.

Has any of you had experience with this issue or have any ideas on what it could be?

Perhaps it's one of your universal joints? They clunk after they start to wear. It could be your front u-joint, which is a lot easier to deal with than something inside your trans...

It's pretty common. From reverse to drive mine clanks pretty good. It also clanks on 2-3 shift under light throttle. Very annoying. The trans mods I'm sure don't help.
