Trying to help a friend out with his 85 GN runs fine but the TCC keeps locking and unlocking quickly when driving at speed.
I pulled the pan, put a new tcc sel in and checked the wiring and grounds seem fine and ohm'd out fine. Thinking converter or pressure issue.
You get about 55 or so and even without raising throttle input or increasing load (downhill) its starts engaging and disengaging very quickly. I unhooked it so he could drive the car for the weekend but told him long term its a no no tranny wont last from the heat. He does have a cooler so it will be fine for the weekend.
Anyone deal with this recently ? 100% stock engine/ trans I check the detent it is set correctly.
