From Jim Layton NTR track manager:
1. Labtop can be adjusted underneath the track tower only but not on the starting line aka on the track adjustments. Im not going to manipulate rules, but they waved the rule on Sunday to my knowledge after several well founded complaints (to me it should be a moot issue but NHRA has other ideas). But just in case if it were up to me and I planned on using it during racing, I just wouldnt show up with it at tech inspection!
2. Roll cage MUST be in cars going 11.49 or faster. No single time trial runs without proper safety equipment. We tried to get it down to a faster et but NTR says no dice b/c any manipulation of safety rule or they lose insurance coverage. Period.
Any other safety changes are made yearly at the US Nationals, so if there are any other changes from the NHRA after Indy, I will find out from NTR and post them on various boards so there are no issues for participants not being up to date with various rule changes, especially those driving from out of state, which is the majority. I know not everyone is happy with these rulings but we tried the best we could and the track's rulings are final. Any other questions just pm or reply to this post!
