There are several Hotels/motels in the Temple area that range from $49 to $125 and on up. HK Dodgen is a Loop in Temple. The SW part of the Loop is about 10 miles from the Little River track.
I contacted the Country Inn and suites located at 1414 SW HK Dodgen Temple 76504, it is 9.9 miles from the track. The Hotel is just SW of I35 exit 299.

I will add something a little north for those that might like a vacation to occupy the kids or wife. Roughly an hours drive to Temple but Bosque (boskee) Resort is located on lake Whitney and offers boating and fishing as well as other attractions. You can rent a room or an apartment with full kitchen for $90 a day. I looked it up for a friend and this should be a good time to book if you don't want to be in a town. Great buffet and restaurant and breakfast across the road.
For those that will be traveling south to the races, if you want your suspension looked at beforehand, stop in West and say Hi. I'm lead tech at Bold Springs tire and lube and you can also get some tasty treats while you're in West. Check with me if you want some brisket or ribs David. We just did a fund raiser for the high school and spent 3 days cooking them. We have quite a few left over and it just needs to be warmed up since it's fully cooked and frozen in aluminum foil. Ribs are about 16-20" long for $15 and an 8-10 lb brisket is $35.
