Hello,

I'm at the time to buy some new radials for my car. I've read many threads about fitment and all, but still havent found the right awnser.

I have on my car 255/55/16 BFG Drag Radials, mounted on GTA's. These are the tires that were on the car when the previous owner had it and ran at 117 mph. I will be buying some MT ET street radials size 275/50/15 and be mounting them on some MC SS wheels.

What is the difference with heigth between these tires? Is the MT's 26 tall and the BFG (that are mounted on the car) 28 inches tall?

Will I run out of rpm?

I will be locking the convertor via a switch. The car (old tune, differenet owner) hade it to a 117, and i dont wanna run out of rpm with these tires.

I'm buying tires for the shoot-out, unless i decide to not race and just watch.

Thank you very much,

Adam Kary

your 255/50-16 are 26" tall , the MT 275/50-15 are 26"

youll need 15" rims to run those MT's

ive been 128 on the 255/50 16 MT radials on GTAs , (using OD non lockup converter) with 1.50 60's

a freind just ran 125 on his 255/50 16 26" MT radial (again using OD at 111 non lockup converter)

out of rpm , depends on converter trans slip , engine build (cam), gears in axle and what MPH the car will do now , you say it went 117 but will you be running it as hard? that cam should be good to 5500

i have been 116 .9 in 3rd w/locked converter on 26" tires
