2nd gear?

I just had my transmission rebuilt and i have a question. As i take of from a stop ( normal driving ) it won't shift out of 1st. until 30-35 mph ( 3500+ rpm's ). Then when it does shift it seems to go right into 3rd gear. I have Bruces shift kit and a 2800 stall convertor. Any suggestions i can try to fix this problem.

the band could be slipping or there is a vbody problem.

Hey Chris. I don't think it is the band. I bought your rebuild kit from you 2 weeks ago and it had new clutches , steels and band along with some other parts. I thank you for the kit also. Please can you tell me what I should look for in the VB area. Thank you.

Sounds like either the band has become disengaged from the anchor pin or when the servo/pin was installed, it missed the band.

Well I sprung a leak out if the servo tonight and all the fluid is gone. So I think that is a good place to start. To hook up the servo and pin to the band does the trans have to be removed?
