I'm wondering if there is any problem using a rim with 3 1/2 inch backspacing?
I figure I can fit 325/50/15 ET Street RADIALS on a rim with 3.5 or 3.75 backspacing. (with air bags and rolled fender well lip)

Any ideas or suggestions?

Here is what I have now....
26 X 11.50 ET Streets.
Sidewall width is 12.0 inches.
The rims have 4 inch backspacing.
There is a good half inch between the frame and
the inside of the tire. (Probably 5/8's of an inch)

325/50/15 Street Radials have a sidewall width of 13 inches, so on my
rim with 4 inch backspacing there would be about 1/8th
of an inch between the inside of the tire and the frame. They
are approx 28 inches tall.

Is there any reason I shouldn't use a rim with 3.5 inch
backspacing, or one with 4 inch backspacing and a
1/4 inch spacer? A rim with 3.5 inch backspacing should
handle a 325/50/15 without rubbing on the frame.

As long as it doesn't rub the frame, keep in mind most cars will have side-to-side movement of the axle. The other thing is with that wide of as tire, check the body/wheel well. I say go for it.
