I have a new 200r4 installed with a PTC 9.5 NL that is working fine but I have noticed the 3&4 gear indicatiors are always on in the PL log files, even when I have the trans in 2nd gear manual?

Anyone know why this would occure? It is modifed with shift kit and upgraded parts, no trans brake.

The 2 pressure switches in the transmission for 3rd and 4th are faulty or not connected.

Update pressure switches were not connected with the install of the non lockup valve.

I believe I'm in the same boat. I just switched to a non l/u trans and the new trans has just one wire connector which is for the trans break. I was just about to post when I stumbled on this thread. What's to hooking them back up? I'm wondering how the tt chip/ecm will adjust timing in 1/2 vs 3/4?

Glad you asked this question.
I have just made a few test runs on my new motor & trans combo, the last log I have with a manual shift 2-3 rd my PL shows 23deg -20deg in the middle of 2nd gear around 55mph?
My previous combo was the stock 40k motor & trans w/ NL9.5 valve and shift kit. It worked fine with the 3&4 pressure valves wired up, always saw the shift to 3 and 4 in PL with the timing change right at 2-3 shift.
I will be calling my trans shop this week.

Eric Marshal of Turbo Tweak says the timing is controlled by MPH not the 3&4 valves. See below...
