Mine Did'nt:d
What expert told you that? there are 8 & 9 second cars that use them. Jason Cramer,Red Arm strong to mention a couple. No disrespect intended but I think I smell a little B.S. that has been fed to you.he has some nice pipe's down there! just make sure you go external on your new set up brent, forget that internal bs, no matter what people say.![]()
KISS stands for Keep It Simple Stupid, The more unnecessary crap you hang under the hood the more to go wrong. Don't get me wrong here. External waste gates do work of course & have their place with no other choice. But with the down pipes available to us.Theres no reason to complicate the situation. Plus it has a much cleaner look. Doesn't create any smog issues on a street car & avoids a lot of hassle.properly set-up I've never had a problem with creep...In fact, I just went to a bigger DP and still retained the internal WG.It's all about the budget

Sorry! I thought it would be an interesting exchange of ideas.Your right, from now on anyone coming to my shop gets an external waste gate & race gas. Thanks for setting me straight I guess it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. So now can we be friends again?i'm going off of personal experience. with my stock turbo set up, internal was fine. And yes i'm sure there are many people doing 9's etc. with a internal gate. But here we go again, just like the alky and race gas argument, we can go at the internal and external agenda the same way. Everybody knows an external gate is far more superrior and reliable than an internal. I've seen somebody around here say something like " if you cant afford it, sell it", if price is an issue, sell it. Thats what I was told anyways. So you can go around buying those little rjc/who ever else sells them= boost controllers, or pop out a fancy tool for pulling a adjustable rod, grab some pliers etc. and fool with a modified adjustable waste gate actuator that puts the puck closer and closer to the exhaust housing every time its tightened. Or you can spend a few bucks on an external gate, most people on here know how to pop a hole in a header and weld a pipe on it or get it done for a few bucks more, put a controller on it in the car nice and cozy, and stop fooling with that stock crap. I'm not mis informed by any professional's, but personally preffer an external gate because it performs better.
I did not post on here to start an issue, but damn it seems everytime somebody posts something like this, somebody has to argue the fact. I'm not here to start problems, not to offer advice if its down'd like i'm an idiot, talked down on because I believe in a certain product, so i'm asking for it to stop. If somebody on here does not agree with something posted, keep it to your self? You could have said, " yeah Brent, those external gates do work very well, put one on if you want," not, I smell b.s, who told you that, and all the above. seems like I get shot down for every thing around here? wtf? I believe alky is great for the street, under 20 psi if you will, but race gas at the race track, and I dont believe in internal waste gates. So if you race your car with alky and pump gas, I think your an idiot hows that? and if your running an internal gate with a big turbo,,,I think YOU are misinformed. That's my word, THANK YOU>shoot that down.....
