I have an 87 firebird with the 2.8 v6. It is VERY slow. I am going to be putting in a ford 9" and rebuilding the 700r4. As well as suspension upgrades.

Question is, how hard will it be to put my spare buick 3.8 in it?
I know that it won't bolt to the tranny, but I figure that someone makes an adapter? And since our engines came in the tta's, I should be able to get exhaust, motor mounts etc.?

Has anyone done this? If it is too diffilcult I'll drop in a chev 350. But I would much prefer to put in the turbo v6.
 
You won't be able to fit it in without using the TTA heads, which I think were off of a fwd 3.0L Buick V6...not sure what casting number...The GN motor/heads won't fit because the strut towers in the F-body are too close together...then you need to find some TTA headers and crossover and TTA DP and the TTA motor mounts/frame brackets, etc...Way too much work unless you have a wrecked TTA for a parts car...

TTA motor used different pistons and heads than the GN motor...
 
do a search in general tech,it's been done plenty of times.

Yes you will be able to fir the Gn motor into the engine bay,only without the AC.Paul at H&R parts is taking care of the motor mounts side of things to make it a drop in setup.ANd the only thing you will need to do it make a custome downpipe.Get a TH off the turbine about 12 inches Terry will sell you one. And make one from there.
