No manual transmissions were offered behind any turbo Buick.
The last G bodies to use a stick were made in 1981 and they used Saginaw 3 and 4 speeds. Do a search on manual transmissions on this forum or the Tech forum.

thanks much

i will look around and see if maybe i can find me a saginaw 4.
These trannies can be "bullet-proofed" to handle decent amount of torque a hps can they not..

No, Saginaws are very fragile when used in a 3400+ pound car. There really isnt much to strengthen as the cast iron case is very weak, the bearings are too small, and the gears are made of a substandard alloy. A Muncie or Super T 10 is much stronger. But neither have over drive.

okay

I talked to a few turbo people at precision and turbonetics they said that turbos and manual trannies are kind of not a good mix as for as the 231 goes. so i am sticking with my th-200r4 and changing the valve body to manual/auto and looking for a spring and wieght adjustment kit for the governor andgoing that route. i figure it will be cheaper and probably better in the long run.

I like my Hammer shifter to much to give it up as i find out lol.
