Is there a spring that goes into the case then the modulator valve then the vacuum modulator?
Mine does not have a spring in there.
What problems would this cause if it is not in there?

On a STOCK 400 Turbo, there is no spring on the modulator valve. Some shift kits use a spring to keep the shifts from being too late.
