I would be interested in one of the valve bodies. I have posted before that I am having problems with a newly rebilt tranny.
If I take off from a dead stop, or from a rolling start of 10-15 and punch the gas 1st to 2nd shift will hit rev limiter. All other shifts are fine, but it doesn't shift hard but doesn't seem to slip either. I really thought that a high performance tranny would shift harder. He did get the valve body reprogrammer from CK and from what I understand it is supposed to shift pretty normal until you get into it. Make sense? Its not a manual valve body either. He has tried the tv cable adjustment and it gets a little better but as soon as you push the pedal to the floor it resets the tv cable and I,m back to hitting the rev limiter. From what I remember people have suggested the govenor in the tranny...I did ask if he reused my original valvle body and he did..So it is a brf valve body. All I know is that I want to get this thing taken care of. I want the good fast hard shifts at wide open throttle. I dont want to burn up a new transmission. Any thoughts? [/quote]
I have not been driving the car very much. I still havent taken the car back to the shop. He will look at it when I'm ready. The car feels like its not out of first before it goes into 2nd. Its almost like someone changing gears in a stick shift without letting out of a wide open throttle, except being a little slow on the clutch therefore letting the engine rev high and the clutch start to slip. Also the tv cable adjustment is super sensitive. It will stay in 2nd all the way up to 35 mph. The tranny did this 35 mph thing in 2nd before the rebuild.
I bought this tranny originally as a rebuilt, unused tranny. It had been modified. Would shift very hard, but would want to stay in 2nd at 35mph. And hunt between 2nd and 3rd at the approx speed of 35-40. The valve body had been modified but no one knows exactly how. The guy was in Florida that did this original rebuild on the tranny. When my guy went to rebuild it he tried to get in touch with the original builder that had done the tranny the first time. He could not find him but found out that he had a reputation of doing unique things to valve bodies that no one else did. Thats about as far as my guy got.
Is it a real good possibility from what I have described that this is my problem?
I'm willing to go valve body if it will take care of the problem.
