Hey,
I have a stock 6.0L LS in my 78 Regal and I`m curious what you guys think is the best transmission option? I have a blown up 480le in it currently, but it doesn't look like the driveshaft is going to fit by an inch or so. Should I go 4l60e?(I have a brand new Jegs 4l60e crossmember for it already)... or should I go 400r or something else? Trying to avoid making a new driveshaft basically and the 4l80e is no good anyhow. Any advice?

Depends on the power your looking to make, if your keeping it NA and 350-450 fwhp then a mild 4l60e will do, anything above that i would re-do the 4l80, thats assuming you want to keep the car overdrive, otherwise a th400 is the cheapest/strongest option
the driveshaft is the easiest thing to re-do dont base the decision on that

Don`t plan on making a ton of power on this motor, I do plan on turboing it in the future... I have a few turbos laying around, but it will be N/A for a bit until I can afford to rebuild it. Setting it up for e85 is all for now. Was planning on getting another 480le, but wanted to see what others are doing first. I bought a 4l60e crossmember cause I`m an idiot and put the wrong one in my cart lol.

And I do want to keep overdrive as I plan to drive it to Florida and back again... last time I did, it had a 3.8 4bbl, th350 and no cruise control... nice highway gears though.
