6.5" in Q Forms?

I just received a set of used Q Forms and noticed that my 6.5"s are almost too big. I'm thinking of making a ring of 1/2" MDF to use to mount them on the Q forms. Anyone else do this, or jusr hack them way back and flush mound the speakers?

The Q-forms seem to come in two flavors now. 1 is for up to 6.5" speakers and the area the speaker mounts is flat. The other is for up to 5.25" and the area the speaker mounts is recessed in and comes with a grille. I suspect that you have the recessed one.

My CDT Audio CL 6.5's are pretty beefy. I'll make 'em fit one way or another.

Not all 6 1/2's are the same. Some are a large frame/basket, which is really a 6 3/4. You will really need to beef up those Qforms to keep them stiff and quite.
