How do i know if my turbo is a p-trim? I bought it brand new last yr. at the Nats. from PTE. If it aint I would like to know what is involved in upgrading to the p-trin=m or just getting the bigger exhaust housing. I have the vigilante 3200 stall in the car now. Will that conv. be enough if i were to put the bigger exh. housing on the car. It is street driven way more than it is on the track.

Pull off your elbow or thdp and measure the diameter of the turbine wheel, or the hole diameter. A P trim has an exducer diameter of 2.544" and the hole will be about .04-.08" bigger (that's my guess, anyway). The other popular turbine wheel for the PT61's with GT61 compressor wheel is the GT350, and it's smaller but I don't remember the diameter. Oh, wait, I did an archive search (hint, hint :-)) and here's an old post of mine with the dimensions you need: http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=93074

why don't you just look at your compressor cover...we inscribe what our turbos are on the compressor cover where the discharge side is where you slide over the intercooler hose...if it says 6176 then it's a P-trim...if it says 6152 then its the smaller T350 wheel...
