Bought it new so I really know that.
V4 intercooler, power plate, JJ Jackson 62mm throttle body and plenum mods., 4" cold air intake, 3.5" MAF translator and Extender Extreme 98 chip, 23/21 timing for the 55's.
Postons timing chain.
2.5" Kenne Bell duals with ultraflows, 3" THDP.
1.8 60 fts. usually..... damm LVD track.
About the same spoolup as the TA62 I had on it, I have a Protorque 3200 stall 10.5" lockup converter and Dynotech Hi-Pro tranny which is the $1400 one with billet servo and slightly different clutches and plates than the street strip version at $1200.
I think a single ball bearing 70 turbo and perhaps 3400-3600 stall would work fine for a street car.
I do however like low stall lockups on the street.
Really no need for a 70 on a daily driver but I thought my headgaskets were gonna be gone by now and was gonna get some ported irons on it so the turbo would be ready for them.
I like the factory seal however and the dyno numbers seemed good so I just drive it as is.
I think it's about 30 HP more at 25 psi. than the 62 on my car.
Plenty of people making about the same power with smaller turbos so it's all in the tuning and what you want for the future.
I am ready for heads and cam and there are no driving issues with the combo as it is so I'm happy I bought once.
Call Jack C. for the ball bearing turbos I think they are on sale now.
I highly doubt I would run a conventional non-BB P-trim and higher stall say 3600-3800 on a daily driver, I'd keep the TA62 and 3200 for what I need to do with my car.
I have also considered selling my TA62 and buying a CPT66 single BB as I know it will spool up fine on my other car which has a 3000 stall Vigilante single disk lockup in it.
