I hope this is the right section...
Heya. I was referred to this site from an olds forums. Basically I just aquired a RWD 1983 Oldsmobile Cutless Supreme coupe yetserday, with a 3.8L V6. It was given to me for free by an uncle.

I have two spare TD04 9b turbos hanging around that are in great shape...how does twin turboing stack up on these engines? Does anyone know how I would go about TTing it? The 3.8 V6 has a low compression ratio, correct? So I should be able to put up some boost and make some decent numbers. I just want to slap em on, and not mess with the internals of the engine, I'll keep the boost low.
Thanks for any help :)

Are you running carbs or fuel injection?

Do you have headers/exhaust manifolds for this?

Is it going to be intercooled?

Plumbing for exhaust, charge air, intercooler, oil feed/return lines will have to be fabbed. Maybe water lines if the turbos are water cooled.

I suppose you can "slap" a turbo on any car - but you have to be careful adding a turbo to any motor that was not designed with forced induction in mind.

It would also help if you slap in a turbo crank too- for reliability. and a turbo oil return line.

The crank will last but the pistons won't.

Any knock, and your done. I don't fancy carbs so I'll say tuning a TT carb set up will be a challange.

Wouldn't take much to put some stock turbo pistons in it. You can proly find a set on the rods for under $100.
