'84 4.1 in '86 car?

I found a deal on a fresh engine/trans, and I was wondering if I can install my stock '86 EFI setup on an '84 bottom end. The owner thinks they may be 86/87 heads on it now. How can I tell? I don't want to buy a bunch of useless junk. What are the pros and cons of using a 4.1 vs. the stock 3.8. The engine was built for a carbed mud racer. Thanx for any input in advance.

It may not have a turbo crank in it but you should be able to put it together.also the pistons are probably not the right comp-usually over 9.5 vs 8.0.

The engine has 9:1 Ross Pistons and Stock Nitrided crank. I have a 44 Turbo I believe and 32lb injectors with a 93 Chip. Would that be bad combo?
