84-85 engine

I found a non intercooled motor that is complete the former owner swaped it for a intercooled motor. Is this motor even worth getting for free? I didnt know if the block is the same as a 86-7? Thanks for any info. Mark

The 84/85 turbo blocks are just as good as the 86/87 blocks. Alot of people will argue that the lifter valley area is beefier in the later blocks, and that is true, it does look better, but I have never heard of anybody breaking a block in that area....good luck

I have heard that the 84/85 blocks are good into the 10's.

I would like to be second in line for the engine if broke1 doesn't get it.

Thanks for the reply's, I dont have the motor yet but was told if I wanted it I could have it cheap! I was just unsure if it was worth my time picking up. I have too many parts I'll never use as it is. If I do get it I will post it here. Thanks Mark
