I would like to know what the difference is btw both injector wire harnesses and if they are interchangeable? This is on my test bed hot air motor. I want to adapt an 86/87 wire harness to it but didn't know if I had to change the injector harness as well? Thanks guys for the help.

They are not interchangeable as they have different connector setups. The 84/85 used 2 connectors while the 86/87 uses a single connector.

I only see a single 5 pin connector on my hot air harness. Do I have something different? Thanks

Here’s a pic of a replacement for a 84/85

the hot air harness has the two injector plugs under the coil pack at front of engine
one has 3 terminals the other has 4 and they are close together
its not just the plugs to the harness that are different because it comes from front of the motor the longest injector plugs are for the 5-6 cylinders shortest go to 1-2 cylinders so to use an 87 injector harness you would have to cut off the 8pin connector, separate the injector leads and plug them in where they belong then extend the wires to get to the coil pack area and get the 3 and 4 pin connectors making sure to get the order right on the plugs

Ok. Will a 86/87 Injector wire harness physically fit the setup of the 84? Mainly the wiring go around the air plenum. I know the connector is different but I will be going to a different harness. Thanks
