Ok I'm back. I have gone over the car with everything I had. I have come to a conclusion that it's my module. recently over the past few days I have been getting a pop back fire when I start to get into boost. Also when I am at a stop and accelerate light throttle I feel it kinda surging. I replace the fuel filter today it needed it. no change brand new pump in the tank I have not check psi but I will tomorrow. I have searched over the forum for series 2 swap and everyone is so blunt about it I can't find what to do for wiring. do they just plug in?

I can be dense but what do you mean by a series 2 swap? Convert to plain English. Brad

sorry I mean series II coil and module. like the three individual coils of two towers. do they just plug in to the hot air wiring harness?

No. They do not plug in. You need a Caspers 84/85 to 86/87 coil module adapter. Then you need and 86/87 coil module. Coil pak will probably work from your 84/85 setup. I personally would check all the spark plug wires and coil pak. Get your ohm meter out and check each spark plug wire. They should all ohm out within 10% of each other. Coil pak- 11000 -13000 across each tower. Bad wires and weak coil pak can cause backfire situation. Brad

I will check over the plug wiress again see what I can find. at idle my spark is a nice blue arc. but If I pull the wire up to see the arc and rev it with the other hand the arc gets really thin and weak. it's odd cause it just started getting bad over the past few days. I have check my knock sensor to see if it was still plugged in I have no codes everything on the scan tool is reading good at idle.I have not got it into drive mode abs checked I will have to do that tomorrow on my way to work.
