84 Turbo ?

When the car is in park and idling, If a floor it the boost gauge lights barely go up. I might get like 2 ~3 squares lighted up. Is this normal or should I be getting more PSI ?

When I'm in drive and driving it around, it spools up fine 10 ~ 12 PSI.

Any ideas.

You need a load on the motor to make the turbo spool. If you just rev it in neutral it will only go to 0 vacuum. I've messed around with mine before and with a stock turbo I could make it hit ~10 psi by quickly revving it. By about the fourth rev it would start making a little boost.
