I have an 84 Gn with the ECM changed to an 87. I'm htinking my O2 was going out, it olny read a constat 94mv on t-link. So i went to o'reilly's to get a new one. I got a bosch one becuase thats what i had before and it ran fine and that what connely's Proformance put in there last time they did some work. THe guy gave me one and i put it in and it ran worse than before. I'm wondering before i go back tomarrow, do i need one for an 87 since i have the 87 ecm? are these different? also is the AC o2 sensor that much better than the bosch? thanks
Going from bad to worse, and that damn a/c compressor in the way too!!!

Nope...Same sensor...Some people have good luck with the Bosch sensors, but IMO, I would(and do) use the AC o2 sensor...

I have heard the bosch O2 sensors suck! Try the GNX O2 sensor AC delco part #AFS22.

thanks for the help, I'll try the bosch (the correct part number) and see how that goes. thanks everyone

When using a Bosch sensor combined with the Postons header location (87) for it, it aims the sesnor directly at one of the heater hoses. The Bosch sensor measures longer than stock length, and may give fit problems for some (Like me!)

I also have more stable O2 readings using the AC or NAPA Echilin (SP?) units.

May not be a problem for your year/application, but the Bosch unit does take up more space. Just thought I would throw that out there...

Good luck!

The Bosch have had problems for years with their design.
The internal ground goes FUBAR.
The exhaust back pressure of a GN in nothing they accounted for, I had 2 bad Boschs in a row, and then went GM, and cured the problem.

I thought the 84-85s had different plug-ins than the 86-87s? I remember trying to put my 85 sensor on my 87 and it wouldn't hook up.

From what I've heard is Bosch makes all O2 sensors anyways. even if its a "delco" its made by bosch with a Delco box or a delco stamp on it.

anyone else hear this?

delco dont MAKE anything just like gm never made cams

not sure the truth behind bosch making delco' cause my bosch's outlast my buddy's delco's and we are usually on the same fuel

i can find out that info..if i remember..

Digging up a bit of an old thread here, but the Bosch is also nearly impossible to fit on ATR headers as I found last night. It has never taken me more than 5 minutes to replace an o2 sensor on any car. 45 minutes and many scraped knuckles later I got the Bosch in my car. The boot for the wire is now bent at a 90 degree angle so I think I'm going to go dig up a AC Delco unit or one of the Napa parts. Live and learn...

Only two  consider yourself lucky. Took me a few more over the years to figure out what was going on
