Hey guys Im wanting to switch my 85 computer out and run an 87 one with an 87 MAF sensor and MAT sensor with a electric fan and 87 coil switch out. I have read the turboregal website on this but it seems a little pieced togther. Can anyone give me the info I need and parts that are reccomended.

I know I need a 87 ECm
87 MAF
87 MAT
87 Coil pack
Harness ???????? and other things Im not sure of

Thanks guys Matt Wenning

you're good on the parts list.if you've got a little extra $$ you should go to http://www.casperselectronics.com/cgi-local/store/commerce.cgi?product=8485 and get the adapter harnesses for the mat,coilpack/module and fans.it'll all be a bolt up affair if you do and it'll be a much cleaner install.i wish i had the $$ when i was doing mine,i had to cut/crimp all those connections.:(

another thing to consider before you spend any money on a stock 87 maf is the ls1 maf and translator+.i have one and it's great.

Yes, the Casper wiring harnesses make it simple.
Suggest you solder the connections and use some shrink tubing to make a real professional looking installation. Like who is ever going to see them! But it will make a tight, trouble free joint.

Thanks

Thanks guys I will order that kit from caspers when I get a chance. What else is involved with using an LS1 Maf and translator and what are the advantages. Thanks Matt Wenning

Hey guys.... I am also doing this conversion.

How much is an LS1 MAF ?

OUCH !

So thats 279.00 for the Translator Plus
and
179.00 for the sensor itself !!!

Thats a whole lotta cash......

It actually converts to 723.00 CDN plus shipping and duty.

This car's gonna break me.............
