Hello, anyone here have any 1/4 mile experience with any of the 84-85 Rivs? I am interested
in any stories of drivetrain weaknesses particularly the TH325-4L trans, 8" differential,
spindles, CV joints, and axles, also 1/4 mile times and speed. Found an 85 T-type in a
local junkyard with complete drivetrain in running condition and bought everything from the
door posts forward as a unit, frame, suspension, motor, trans, diff, harnesses, etc.
Installing the entire assembly into the back of a custom project inspired by the Ferrari F-50
and LeMans cars (not a Fiero or kit), placing as a mid engine layout. If anyone has done
or planning to do something similar would be very interested in your stories as well.
Am trying to keep the entire Buick designs intact with the usual upgrades to engine (manifold, intercooled, etc.) trans (torque converter, shift kit , etc.) and axles (if needed).
Am installing drivetrain 180 (engine front facing rear) and diff clocked 180, attached to trans
with a torque tube, this puts engine in front of axles, anyone tried this one?! If you have,
would really like to swap notes!
