86 gn transmission not shifting at all

i bought this 86 gn from up north and ship it to atlanta ga the guy told me the motor and transmission was rebuild when i got the car he had all the paper work on the car. when i start the car up then i put it in gear and it didn't go nowhere then i cut the car off less then 20 second and check the trans. fluid and there eas no fluid then i added about 5 qt into the trans. and it still didn't move what can the problem be thank you

Putting fluid in an empty tranny will not automatically make it move. Raise it up and put in on jack stands. Start the car and beginning in 1st gear, give it some gas and continue to add fluid. Once the wheels are moving keep gradually move up the gears and fill the tranny until it pukes from the vent. If that doesn't work sounds like you have a bad pump.

PS If possible check line pressure, a sure way to diagnosis the pump status.
