86 or 87??

I am looking for a 86 or 87 GN motor - complete for a 1947 Studebaker Convertible project. How do I tell this engine from an earlier model?

If the motor is complete, then you can tell because the turbo sets to the front of the motor and there will be a port off the turbo where it can be connected to the innercooler.

86-87 were intercooled. The 84-85 cars didn't have one hence the name"hot air". The turbo on the 86-87 cars is mounted on the pass. front of the motor. On the 84-85 cars it's mounted on top of the motor to the right of the plenum.
