I swaped my 85 ECM for a 87 I got a 93 octain ATR pittbull chip off of the for sale section. I did not hook up the MAT sensor yet I will do it when I get home tonight. The problem I am having is that the car will idle fine for a while and the will all of a sudden just die. Then when it does idle and you put it in gear it will die. I also tried to take it for a drive by keeping it idleing. If I floor it it just stumbles and about dies, if I slowly get into it it will run good. As far as I can tell TPS and O2 are ok was getting late and did not get to check to much out. Just thouht May be some one would have run into this or have an idea for me. I will hook up OTC 4000 when I get home and see whats up.
Thanks for any info.

Do the IAC reset procedure...

Also, what is your fuel pressure set at???

Any idea how old the Pitbull chip is??? Be aware that the earlier Pitbull chips were a little higher timing chips and with the way that gas is today, you may detonate some even with 93-94 oct premium in the tank...

Thanks!!
I did the IAC reset procediure and adjusted it and the TPS until I got it correct Now it idles and I can drive it.

I dont know where my fuel pressure is I am in the process of making a gauge ( the lines for a gauge i have) and I dont have an adjustable regulator yet. I can tell you it is lean at idle and rich at WOT ( about .800-.850). According to the OTC 4000 there is no knock.

I did notice that it seems to build boost alot slower than the stock chip. It will creap from about 12 lbs all the way up to 16-17 lbs. In first and drop to about 14 when it shifts and climb again.

Thanks again

Did you change your MAF to 87...

or buy a chip that was burned for 87 ecm with 85 MAF? May make a difference. ;)

Im getting an 87 MAF, my 85 MAF started throwing codes when I went for a drive last night.
Thanks,

Probably because of the chip, may not be anything wrong with your MAF. Just a thought.

I think the ECM I got is bad some times all I have to do is turn on the key and I get codes 24,42,44,33 and other times it will run fine with no codes and then pop up with about 5 diferent codes. I even tried to swap cal-paks because most of the codes included bad cal-pak as a problem but it did not help. Put my 85 ECM in and everything is good. My neighbor is gonna try to get me another ECM tommorow.
