87 GN motor .40 over?

A friend of mine is planning on putting an 87 GN motor into a 89 Chevy S-10. Before i have him waste all his money, i have a question. The motor was rebuilt and was bored .40 over. Is this even worth risking to get to work right or is there a way to build this up so it runs right? Thanks

0.040" over motor is fine. There are 2 I personally know of and tuned on running 11.00-11.30's. One is a T-type and the other a GN. They have about 10K, on each motor, and have about 40-50 1/4 mile passes. Just take your time and check your tolerances.
