I'm trying to find something that tells the stock performance numbers for the 87 Grand National. I tried searching, but apparently this information is impossible to find or something. Can someone point me to where I might find it?

the test numbers varied, but i beleive 0-60 was somewhere between 6.0-6.3 and the 1/4 was somewhere around 13.5...hope this helps

Hi,
I agree with the 0-60 time, but a stock GN would never pull a mid 13 in the 1/4. A GNX would, though. Try mid 14s, that's what a few old tests I read gave them. Still enough to give the pony cars fits back then!

Car and Driver tested an 86, and published 0-60 in 4.9, and 1/4 in 13.9@100, maybe 14.0@100 not sure. Someone has the article scanned and it's lurking around here somewhere.

Yeah I did find that Car and Driver article the other night and it did say the 86 GN 0-60 time was 4.9 secs.

All the mags always said 13.9 but he best I did was 14.3. If you want to make that better then remove the DS highbeam headlight and put a screen in there and put the headlight holder frame back in. That will ram air into the air intake before the MAF.

From what I remember, Car and Driver was the only one that claimed 13.9. And it was also in 8 degree weather!

Most were low 14's with 14.3-14.4 the consistent times. Mine ran 14.3 when it was completely bone stock also.

In 1987 at Atco NJ.....I ran a 13.9 a couple times, most runs were 14.0 to 14.3....bone stock.......most magazines were 14.20's............the quickest GN and GNX stock times came from Tony Defoe....I think I spelled his name wrong....from Muscle Car Magazine......he ran a stock 86 T Type at 13.85 at 99mph.......he ran a stock GNX also at Atco at 13.27 at almost 106mph.

Pete
