Today, I looked at a 87 Limited T Type with about 125,000 miles. This car has a astroroof, half vinyl top, sagging head liner, chrome package.Everything works on the car,and it is bone stock as can be!The seats and the rest of the interior is in great shape.Ok the cons, leaky rear main seal,a new door skins.Runs good,no smoke.Asking price4500.What do you guys think.

Posi? Rust? What kinda work has been done to it? New/replacement parts? Any records/history come with the car? Colors? Cloth or leather interior? Other options (and is the option code sticker on the decklid intact and accurate)? Pics? Where is it located? Most importantly, do you like it?

If the skins were done well that's really not a big con in my book. If it seems tight mechanically (both motor and trans) and you don't find anything big wrong with it (rear main isn't a huge deal) I'd say it's probably a good buy. I am by no means an expert though, I'm sure you'll get some better feedback from some of the other guys here.

The car has no rust, trunk mounted option code,no posi oh well, cloth interior is cool, paint is in good shape. This car has no modifications at all.Now that in itself is somewhat rare. When and if I BUY IT,first thing timing chain, valve springs, rear main seal. This car looks like something my mother would drive ha ha!!

i would take it if its in good enough shape. that is a really good price, especially around here. if you end up not liking it just bring it out to colorado and you will get at least $6,000 for it. i've seena beat 86 gn go for $10k, either we have a bunch of dumb people, which we do , or its a great market for selling them.

Thats a great price for a car with no rust that is clean on the unside. I paid $6500 for my limited. Same options and mileage. Dont be makin fun of those padded roofs now. The best thing about a Limited, especially with chrome trim is the sleeper look.

Someone mentioned the samething I was thinking and that is whether it has the turbo V6.
The T Type was available from 83-86 came with the turbo V6 only.
The T Type name was dropped for the Regals in 87. The option was now called a "T" which was basically Buicks Grand Touring sport/performance option. It came with sway bars front and rear, performance steering ratio, 15x7 wheels with P215/65R15 tires and lastly a 3 spoke sport steering wheel.
The "T" could be had on a standard Regal or Limited Model and could be had with either the 307 Oldsmobile V8 or the turbo V6. They may have even made a NA v6 as well, I personally have never seen one.
There is a huge difference in features between the 307 model and the V6 model. But $4500 sounds like a pretty good deal if it is a turbo.
