87 turbo housing on a hotair setup???

Hey guys, Ive got a question. I know that a 87 turbo does not have the mounts for a throttle body, has anyone done something to get the turbo and TB to bolt together in the stock location using a later turbo housing???

Im buying a TA 61 turbo and want to use it, but Im not sure how to do it. Any one had this problem and found a solution????

If not I will move the throttle body to the front of the intake manifold when I pipe my intercooler in.

Any advice would be great. thanks guys

The TB will bolt up to the 87 compressor housing, it just tilts a little but it works. I can't remember very well because I did it 3 years ago but I think you have to drill out the two holes in the TB that arent' used right now. I don't remember for sure though. Is the TB at least bored out? If not, with that big turbo there will be lag for sure.

Yea I got a 61mm Lee Thompson throttle body to match the TA 61.

I got an adaptor from Lee that allows you to mount the throttle body so it sets straight up and he also had John Crig weld the turbo adaptor to the housing so it would fit without too many mod to make it fit. Check with him.
