As i put in the transmission section, i overheated my trans and messed up some parts. Now we all know when you shortcut and skimp out you end up paying twice. Really i wasnt skimping out, i just chose someone besides the original builder to look at it. He was supposed to take it apart and see what happened, he has built a few before and i knew hiim from the club. he replaced the center support, thrust washer, either the forward or direct drum(cant remember which) and the 2nd gear band. Thats all that was damaged so thats all he did. Didnt remove the vb because i didnt ask him too and some trash got stuck in the 3-4 shift valve. Which after telling him of the issues i had after i reinstalled it, he was the one who informed me of the fixes for that. So after i removed the vb and cleaned out the vb, i put it back together and i worked fine, for 3 miles, then i lost 4th and then 3rd and limped home in 2nd. So i pulled the trans and sent it back to the original builder. If it was just trash in the system i wouldnt be pissed, but every part he put in is junk now. The center support is bad because he didnt remove the burrs and it got destroyed just removing it, the 2nd gear band was toast after about 15 miles and the tolerances for the clutch packs was off. I dont know but i just assume thats why the high gears went out. When i picked it up i was supposed to be picking up a working trans, not a 50/50 chance. He built/fixed it so i would have a working trans since he was the troubleshooter not me. I asked for some money back since i have to buy parts twice. He answered me 3 times and offered me 50 for just the center support and i said 200 then he told me he was done with me, thats its my fault for cutting corners, which i didnt do. I replaced what he suggested i replace. Now he wont answer pm's and he never answered my texts.

Brf cheap short build gone bad!!!!

OK,here we go...I don't have a problem telling everyone on here what happen,because I'm not a vender and only build my own stuff and for a few friends.You came to me with your transmission stating that you didn't have second gear and that you only wanted to replace the band for second gear and that was it..I recommended to you a full rebuild as to not to short cut any corners and expained to you that if something goes wrong I am not responsible because you chose to be cheap and try to short cut fixing your transmission..Upon taking the tranny apart I noticed that the center support would not come out alone it had welded itself to the direct drum..(you stated your car was in a accident and hit hard from the back)Well later I finally got the center support and drum out, I contacted you and told you what I found..I told you that since you did not want a full rebuild that you would need to replace the center support and drum.At that time you stated you didn't want to spend any more money so I said fine and told you that I had used one from out of another tranny and would only charge you 50.00 for it and you said fine...All along reminding you that if something goes wrong I'm not responsible because you chose the cheap fix.(and I think I made myself clear on many occassions about the cheap fix,but I seen that you were being stubborn or cheap so I let it go)upon inspecting your tranny I noticed that it was built with power packs in forward,direct drum and 4th gear I believe..So basically what I did was take the clutch pack out of old drum and install in rebuilt one(not changing the set-up from original builder-installed wide band,not changing servo set-up from original builder and installed center support and 4th gear cltuches.."THAT"S IT!!!I did not take out low reverse center support and clutches only down to direct drum..If you know about building transmission you know the valvebody has to come off in order to remove center support ...THe only 3 parts that got change in this tranny was the direct drum,band and center support..Since it was not a full build and the tranny was set up with power packs,I left the set-up the same,so for me I really made no changes to the tranny other than the 3 parts the got change..And when your builder took it apart nothing was missing..As a result of not doing a full build,none of your parts got hot tanked to include case,valve body,etc..I'm sure your tranny had trash in it from the drum being locked to center support as well as your converter,and tranny cooler..None of these parts got cleaned...You had the car at your house and had plenty time to send the converter out to be cleaned and flush your tranny lines and cooler but you didn't..Once you got the tranny back you stated that it drove fine in the begiinng but stated you over filled the tranny and it started blowing fluid everywhere and went up in smoke and you had to tow it home..Well folks I will let you decide for yourselfs what happen...I'm sure you went down the street and probably got on it with all that trash and debris just waiting to clog something up which it did.. and that's wht happened..So like I pm you earlier I will send you the money for a rebuilt center support which you chose not to buy...and let your builder do another cheap short cut build...best of luck,and see you at the track...


ps-I have a whole list of people I have built motors and transmission for and their cars are hauling axx and never had any problems,from 4 cylinders to v-8...why? because they were not cheap and didn't take any short cuts my friend..You are the only bad apple on my resume... So next time make this a learning experince..If you can't afford to fix it,sell it!!!

OH YEA FOLK'S,
This all happened over a year ago.I'm not sure why he would wait over a year to rehash this junk,but I don't care..Any vender's warranty would be expired on all parts and labor,but I will still give him the money back to buy a rebuilt center support because at one point in time I experienced the same thing in my life and I'm not that type of person...If I would hav done a full rebuild and something would have went wrong and he had brought it back with in 90 days I would have fixed for free or gave him my tranny in place of his,but not wait over a year later to throw this stuff in my face...

(EVERY PART I PUT IN WAS JUNK)

Here is the list of 3 parts I put in--

1)Alto wideband -NEW FROM DAACO

2)Rebuilt direct drum-FROM Dacco

3)used center support-because he didn't want to spend money on a new one

HEY MY FRIEND-WAKE AND SMELL THE COFFEE-THIS WAS NOT A REBUILT TRANSMISSION-JUST YOUR CHEAP QUICK FIX TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD!!!

THE REASON YOU DIDN"T TAKE IT BACK TO THE ORIGINAL BUILDER BECAUSE YOU NEW THE PRICE OF BUILDING THIS HIGH PERFOMCE TRANSMISSON WAS GOING TO BE EXPENSIVE,THAT"S WHY YOU CHOSE THE CHEAP WAY OUT AND AS THEY SAY,YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR..THE ONLY THING I DID WRONG WAS TRY TO HELP YOU OUT..BECAUSE IT WASN'T ABOUT THE MONEY..IT WAS ABOUT TRYING TO HELP A FELLOW BUICK MEMBER,WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT YOU WERE TAKING A 50/50 GAMBLE BY NOT DOING A FULL BUILD!!!!

Wow, selective memory. Im sure he told me a full rebuild was best and i concurred. You never reitterated as much as you say. Im not sure about you saying you arent responsible, but that makes sense cause you backed away from me as soon as it came up lame. But the trans worked fine just the 1-2 shift was wierd. I did NOT say i only wanted 2nd gear replaced, i said just take it apart and see what wrong. I did know that it wasnt cleaned and all he said he did is correct.

1. I got the band,not you and it wasnt from daaco. I ordered it from CK i believe.

2. Was in late Nov when he did it because i damaged the trans a few weeks before Thanksgiving. And i put the trans in immediately, had the problem and told him immediately.

3. The trans was not hurt in the accident from the previous car it was in because i used it for over a year in this car.

4. I never got on it at anytime. I am not a child with a toy.

5. Cheap?! You have no idea what i spend on this car and NEVER cut corners(normally). But you seeemed to know what you were talking about.

6. I didnt say you put in junk parts, just that they are junk, now. Trans guy who did the original build,which you said was great, found NO trash in the trans and the valves all moved freely and the converter is at PPC right now with no trash and no damage.

Now 87buick racer has been better and offered to pay for some parts. I asked for 100 for the 2nd gear band and center support. Which i never said dont buy a new one, you just offered up your spare and said they were no big deal.

You dont know me well enough to say im cheap and irresponsible with my car. I have stuck with the facts at hand i would appreciate if you do the same. Just give me $100 for the 2 parts that i have to replace again and i will be happy.

And you never said this is a 50/50 chance of working. It was delivered as a working unit. And i paid to have that built once why would you think i wouldnt do it again? Again, you have no idea of how i do things. I thought it was a simple fix and could be done quick and easy, and i have kept you up to date thru texts that you would not respond to. Finally thru pm's did i get an answer but no solution.

Why would i take your trans as a swap? My trans has all the extra clutches and shift kit and sonnax super servo, you commented on how well it was built i would never give it away. You knew with 2 weeks this trans didnt work right, you were the one that told me the overfill was no big deal and that the 3-4 shift valve was stuck because you called Lonnie. So dont try to say i waited, you knew right away and never said you would fix it or trade it. And it sat because i have other cars that need attention and are dd.

This matter is dead to me because you now wait over a year later for some reason to beat a dead horse and throw it in my face..I have a th400 tranny that is capable of 9 second passes with a billet 4000 stall converter, billet yokes and a 3" custom dom drive shaft..Your tranny is lucky to make a hi 10 second pass because you have no billet parts,just extra clutch packs...Anyway I will pay you for a rebuilt center support because that part came from me..Any other defective parts you will need to take up with the vender they came from..I'm done with this dead horse!!!

I'm no internet thug..I have done some real serious things to people,you have no idea...but I can't tell you....I have the bullet wounds and teeth marks on my knuckles from my past to prove it and I don't live that life anymore,but I don't have a problem showing you the scars..Most of the guys I grew up with are either dead,in prison,or on drugs...I'm sure your life growing up was a piece of cake compared to mine..My job takes me all over the country so I was not able to make the meeting...So when I see you at the next meet you will get your money..And I am all man 6'0 240lbs baby..bench pressing 385lbs/400lbs once and leg squatting 300lbs and leg pressing 400lbs..I stay strong cause you never know when a b.... want to try you...
