9" Ford axle ends/bearings on the 8.5...

has anyone converted their stock 8.5 to use 9" Ford axle ends/bearings? Keep coming across this setup in various magazines as a way to eliminate the c-clips without using a leak-prone "c-clip eliminator" kit. If anyone has done this, what did you do for axles and brakes?

That is what you are forced to do if you don`t run c-clip eliminators. I just converted a moser 12 bolt with 9 inch housing ends for a buick,they sell gm 5X4.75 pattern drums that fit they are ford 11x2 1/2 drums lots of stopping power or boost holding .
