for use with the Powerlogger.
Not being a computer person, I need to know if this cable will work.

If not, where can I get such.?
I am making a protection plate for the PL plug, and would like to use the 90* to lay the cable closer to the ecm box.
90 on both ends will be a plus.
My new ASUS 15.6" will be here Monday. I need to get set up to do some logging, and this is a part of it.
1st new lt in 14yrs!

Computer guy here....that should work! As long as your new ASUS laptop has a standard USB port you should be in business.

Would be interested in seeing your protection plate.

My Powerlogger/ECU is with Bob right now getting its USB port re-soldered to the board.

Thanks for the reply...The ASUS has 3 ports, including USB3.
I'm making a pattern, and thot, "this cover could be considerably thinner, {less floor exposure}, if the 90* plug was used". Use of the strait-in plug would necessitate a tite bend in the cable, and more stress on the board.
My measurement shows that the strait plug, w/ a reasonable loop, would require the cover to be about 2 1/4" out into the floor area.
Once I get a cable w/ the 90's on it, I'll remake the pattern.

Here's the one I use. Just pick your length. Note my routing preference.

Cable on the way. Should be here in a day or 2.
NOW! comes the "fun". Just got the new ASUS laptop...WOW, is all I can say. My 15 yo, Compaq weighs twice what this one does. LOTS of neat gadgets to get me in trouble, w/ the main PITA being WIN10...

You will have to disable the driver signing to make that laptop work with the PL.

Where did you get the little white plastic fastener at the bottom (that holds the panel in place)? First tech that ever fooled with my car lost my little original plastic screw and I've been looking for a replacement ever since!!

I got a new push pin for my ECU cover at True value hardware. It is even very close to the correct color too![emoji4]

Dave surely you can find something better than that rusty hex head bolt?? And a little grey spray paint on that plastic push pin maybe. Sorry I know some guys aren't as anal as me. I probably shouldn't have said anything [emoji51]

That's just while he tests it out.
(For the last ten years) lol

That's not rust, that's its color (brown), but you're right, I should paint them. [emoji23]

I had some bad connections occur with the sections needed to use the angle. When driving or accelerating it would lose connection, I then went back to 1 piece and all is well. Similar to splitters on cable tv?? The angle is a great idea if it works, please keep us informed on your results and the protector piece......................

We are using a cable with built in angles NOT a straight cable with detachable angled ends.
And that other guy is using a rusty screw to hold the ECM in place lol

I see...................hmmmmmmmmmmmmm....... how can he remove said rust w/o affecting power & readings............LOL
