Ok Background on the truck.

Used seasonally for 5th wheel hauling from 94 to around 01.
In 02 it had ECM replaced then seen very little time on the road untill last year.
To date it has just over 100k on it So broken down that comes out to about 6k every year, (providing it was used each year) the rest of the time it sat, and sat.... and sat some more.

My Nephew bought it, put about 10k on it in the last 6 months....Two weeks ago the Crank sensor went out, towed to shop, was replaced then blew the ECM within 20 mins of test drive.

IM trying to help my Nephew troubleshoot it via phone, he has it at local garage, Gave him ideas to pass along, he told me what they had tested and as best he could...how they tested it but.........

Could be many grimlins to choose from in the wiring:eek: Wires that sit get brittle and oh boy

Edit additional: The crank sensor went out during a heavy rain (Clue)

Here is my question:
If it were you troubleshooting the cause of ECM failures...What would you test? and How would you test it?
